The Convivial Laboratory at FAROUT Live Arts Festival 2024

A pragmatic dimension that accompanies – and at times disorients – political theory. For this edition of FAROUT Live Arts Festival 2024: The Convivial Laboratory, eight days of meetings, workshops, conversations, lunches and dinners that focus on conviviality, on being together as a practical dimension.
A programme within the programme, within the FAROUT festival at BASE Milano and around Moéca, a multiform table imagined by Lorenzo Perri and Sabrina Morreale / Lemonot.
These will be occasions for learning, political reflection, geographical memory, the elaboration of pain and small joys, in the company of artists, philosophers, researchers, designers and cooks.

A malleable space: Moéca, by Lemonot

Moéca is the name given by Venetians to the local crab (common riparian crab ‘Carcinus Mediterraneus’), when it reaches the peak of its moulting phase, with the loss of its shell and before it rebuilds it in a few hours, in contact with brackish or salt water. The large metal object designed by Lemonot for FAROUT’s ‘The Convivial Laboratory’ is just that: a space that seems to be waiting to transform – to seize that moment when disorientation changes into awareness.

VOLUNTEER

BASE is looking for volunteers who want to experience the creation of a festival in 360°. Train in cultural accessibility, prepare to welcome the audience, assist in the realisation of performances, get to know the artists and be inspired by new points of view.
