Accessibility at FAROUT Live Arts Festival 2024

The BASE team is constantly working to make our activities more accessible. We genuinely care about having you with us: we’ve collaborated with artists and allies to ensure you can experience this festival in the best possible way. From the programming of content to the communication of information, FAROUT is a festival open to everyone.

We’ve communicated the accessibility (or lack thereof) of spaces and events: you’ll find icons and accessibility indicators* for each event on our magazine and social media channels. These icons indicate the absence of barriers, the availability of accessibility tools such as subtitles and poetic audio description, the presence of sensory stimuli, and will also alert you—when necessary—to sensitive content, helping you make informed choices within the program.

Four festival events have been made accessible to the deaf community, with LIS (Italian Sign Language) interpretation and subtitles provided.

Two events, to ensure accessibility for blind and visually impaired audiences, will include poetic audio descriptions, which offer commentary on environments, movements, expressions, and costumes without overlapping with the original dialogue and music.

Accessibility information is also indicated by signage throughout the various spaces.

We’ve also prepared safe decompression spaces in each of the festival locations.
