Moderated by Bruno Ceschel, this panel explores how gender influences the creation and perception of visual storytelling about women.

Moderated by Bruno Ceschel, founder of Self Publish, Be Happy and a leading figure in the photography and publishing world, this panel examines the nuances of how women are represented through both the female and male gaze. Ceschel, known for fostering dialogue on contemporary photography and self-publishing, brings his expertise in exploring diverse visual narratives to this thought-provoking discussion.

Featuring artists from The Tree of Life: A Love Letter to Nature and Latin America Panorama, the panel includes Lotte van Raalte, Marisol Mendez, Persia Campbell, Sofie Flinth, Irene Alison, Diego Moreno, Enrique Leyva, Bhodi Shola and Margarita V. Beltrán. In The Story Behind the Image, each artist will present their work, sharing personal insights into their creative processes and the stories behind their images as they are projected on a large screen.

The ensuing discussion will explore how gender influences the creation and perception of visual storytelling about women. By juxtaposing perspectives from both male and female artists, the panel seeks to uncover shared themes, divergences, and how these perspectives shape the narratives of femininity, strength, and identity. Guided by Ceschel, this conversation will offer a reflective and nuanced look at the evolving portrayal of women in contemporary photography.
