Queer Deities in Migration weaves together the stories of seven queer migrants with the ancient mythology of the Caucasus. Each journey of migration, loss and transformation corresponds to a gender-fluid deity, giving life to a universe where myth and the present meet and rewrite each other.
At FAROUT, the seven deities make their appearance during the journey that leads them to the festival in the mountains of Berlin. Through performance, costumes, masks and transformative makeup, the stage becomes a space of crossing, where memory, identity and belonging take shape. A contemporary ritual that celebrates the resilience, imagination and strength of queer migrant communities.

Bio
“Queer Deities in Migration” (2024–2026) is a transnational, multidisciplinary art project that interweaves the contemporary realities of seven queer migrants with the ancient gender-fluid mythology of the Caucasus. Co-created by Giorgi Rodionov, Uta Bekaia and Dato Koridze, the nomadic performance network uses elaborate costumes, masks and rituals to explore displacement, resilience and solidarity. Following various stops across Europe, the final ritual will take place in Berlin in September 2026.
