How can design contribute to imagining new ways of inhabiting the present? And what role can materials play in shaping more conscious and sustainable practices?
Earthrise – Design for a Living Planet returns for its third edition. The international residency is open to designers under 35 who wish to develop a research project focused on clay-based materials, ceramics, terracotta and their derivatives, exploring their potential as cultural, environmental and design resources for the present.
At a time marked by climate, social and demographic transformations, the residency invites participants to reflect on the role of design in creating new possibilities for living and relating to the planet through a situated and interdisciplinary research practice.
The selected project will be developed during a residency hosted by Circolo del Design in Turin, with the support of an international network of partners including BASE Milano and Designregio Kortrijk. The selected designer will work closely with communities of designers, artisans, researchers and experts from different fields, developing their project through moments of exchange, mentoring and dialogue.
- Application deadline: 3 July 2026
- Results announcement: 20 July 2026
