NEL SEGNO DI MAX — Residenza professionale per illustrator^ emergent

by Redazione

Massimiliano Aurelio was much more than a talented illustrator: he was a desk companion, a radiant presence, and an integral part of the BASE Milano community. After his sudden passing, his workstation—the space where he brought ideas, projects, and images to life each day—was left empty.

Today, with emotion and deep gratitude, we wish to turn that space into an opportunity for those taking their first steps in the world of creativity.
This is how the professional residency “In the Sign of Max” was born, dedicated to emerging illustrators under the age of 30.

What the grant includes:

– A one-year membership to Autori di Immagini, the Italian professional association for illustrators.

– A one-year workstation at BASE Milano, valued at over €3,000 (+ VAT), offered free of charge, with the opportunity to work alongside a community of creative professionals within the Burò Project House.

– A portfolio review and participation in the exhibition of Pawchewgo, a leading event in the field of contemporary illustration.

Who can apply:

Illustrators under 30 who are at the early stages of their career and wish to grow professionally in a creative and inspiring environment.

Where it takes place:

The residency will be hosted at BASE Milano, one of the city’s leading cultural and creative centers. Located in the former Ansaldo industrial complex in the Tortona district, BASE is a shared workspace and hub for experimentation, where art, design, culture, and enterprise come together. A dynamic, multidisciplinary and open environment—ideal for those working in visual creativity.

How to apply:

Applications open on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025. You’ll be asked to provide some basic information about yourself, your portfolio, and a short motivation statement. The deadline to apply is July 3rd, 2025.

Why “Nel segno di Max”:

Because we believe the best way to remember Max is to keep his passion for illustration alive—by offering others the chance to nurture their own.

So... is this getting serious?
