Speculative project set in 2035 exploring shadow as a space of privacy and freedom, resisting surveillance within intelligent systems.

by BASE Milano

The exhibition project by Harim Academy explores darkness not as absence, but as a generative space and invisible infrastructure. Within a multidisciplinary ecosystem, the departments of Interior & Product Design, Visual Communication, Fashion Styling, and Marketing engage in dialogue to make visible the submerged systems that sustain collective life, across matter, image, body, and strategy.

From volcanic stone to visual languages, from fluid identities to evocative imagery, each discipline transforms darkness into possibility. HELLO DARKNESS thus becomes a transitional framework for inhabiting uncertainty and imagining new forms of community, value, and future.

We Will Design 2026 — HELLO, DARKNESS embraces design as a tool for subverting hierarchies and weaving together ecologies and technologies to imagine the cities and societies of the future.
It is an invitation to recognize the abyss — political, ecological, aesthetic — we’re living in, not as a place of fear, but as a space of regeneration, resistance, and imagination. Darkness here is not absence, but a fertile condition that embraces invisible gestures, marginalized knowledge, and luminous forms of resistance.

So... is this getting serious?
