La Bocciofila
di BASE

On July 22, as part of its summer programming, BASE Milano presented La Bocciofila—a project by AUT, Studio GISTO, and Hypereden. A declaration of love and a tribute to one of the most popular pastimes across the last three generations.

Inside BASE, La Bocciofila recreates a classic space for leisure and pause. The goal is to bring back its raw, authentic flavor—a ritual that contemporary architecture design too often excludes from the conversation.

Ten years of research on the margins of work, inside Milan’s leisure sanctuaries. Places where play and sociality merge into a contemporary, inclusive, intergenerational ritual. BASE becomes a playground. A space to test your sports skills, unwind, or simply stay.

To celebrate the first throw of the boccino, the Courtyard transformed into a summer square: we opened the court, played burraco, danced together under the Milan sky. An evening with the feel of past and future summers, where different generations meet around the same rituals: playing, dancing, being together. Even those arriving solo find someone to share the time with.

La Bocciofila opened on July 22nd, but it stays open all summer—Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM to 10 PM.

So... is this getting serious?
