Jade Fritsch — Treatment for a Re-connection

by Redazione

Warmth becomes kinship and sitting becomes a ritual of caring for the self, the Earth and the intricate and interdependent systems that sustain us all.

Originating from research on off-grid living and permaculture, Treatment for a Re-connection invites us to reconsider our relationship with energy and matter. It is a whispered provocation: how can we meet our needs while remaining in relationship with the living, breathing planet?
These seats are low-tech, high-sensitivity creations. Clay, fiber and lime create microclimates that respond to the rhythms of the day. Each piece draws on the wisdom of localized heating, an homage to traditions that understood comfort as relational and grounded.
To sit here is to perceive warmth not as a commodity but as a gift, a gentle exchange between you and the materials. It is an invitation to curiosity, a provocation to ask what we really need to feel comfortable.

More than a sustainable design, Treatment for a Re-connection is a manifesto for thoughtful living. The futuristic yet organic forms of the seating are rooted in place, made from materials that honor the earth from which they come. Challenging the modern logic of extraction and excess, they instead propose a way of living that is thoughtful, deliberate, and joyful.

Treatment for a Re-connection reclaims warmth as a place of ecological and social intimacy. It reimagines comfort not as a thoughtless consumption of resources, but as a collaborative act between humans, materials and environments. It calls us back to old habits while projecting us into a future where design is a tool of reconnection, not domination.
