HELLO, DARKNESS
Silence. Pressiure. Ombre.
In times marked by overexposure and individualism, obscurantism, disruptions, invisibilized communities, and the feeling of a world on the brink of collapse, we invite you to immerse yourself in the Abyss.
At BASE, darkness becomes a field of possibilities: a porous infrastructure that welcomes invisible gestures, marginalized forms of knowledge, and luminous resistances. It is an invitation to design new ways of inhabiting the present, building alternative communities, and revealing the submerged systems that sustain collective life.
HELLO, DARKNESS invites us to embrace darkness not as an absence, but as a fertile condition and a beginning. It urges us to acknowledge this abyss—whether political, ecological, or aesthetic—approaching it not only as a source of fear but, above all, as a space of regeneration, resistance, and imagination. Here, darkness is a teacher and an ally, a landscape from which new forms of life, knowledge, and relationship can emerge.
DESIGN AMBASSADORS
To shape the 2026 edition of We Will Design, three Italian designers and curators will lead the selection of the participating projects.
Cecilia Casabona
A curator specialized in design, Cecilia Casabona works on collective, participatory, and performative practices.
Matilde Losi
Matilde Losi is a designer, editor, and curator with a Master’s in Design Curating & Writing from the Design Academy Eindhoven.
Giulia Tomasello
Giulia Tomasello is an interaction designer and educator. Working at the intersection of design, science, and anthropology, she redefines the terms of intimate female care.
