We World Festival XV

festival

Three days of talks, art and musics dedicated to women's rights and gender equality, to overcome, together, every gender stereotype: the WeWorld Festival returns to BASE May 23-25, 2025 for its 15th edition

An invitation to recognize and celebrate subjectivities in all their complexity, building alliances that spark real, tangible change: We World Festival returns to BASE Milano, and the theme of this fifteenth edition is “United and Plural.”

At the heart of this year’s edition are the challenges we face every day: personal, political, and collective.
We will talk about non-conforming bodies, motherhood, parenting, economic independence, menstrual justice, sexuality, and emotional education.
There will also be a focus on countering hate speech and online verbal violence — which continue to target those who choose to speak out, share their stories, or simply be themselves.

SPAZIO LIBERE DI ESSERE
Again this year, the Festival offers a wide range of experiential activities dedicated to well-being with the SPAZIO LIBERE DI ESSERE: from rooftop yoga sessions to career counseling led by Spazio Donna WeWorld, which will also host workshops and personalized consultations.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENTS
There will be no shortage of activities dedicated to families:
a Play Area with educational activities led by early childhood professionals;
a creative workshop for children to prepare a delicious, waste-free snack;
a workshop for teenagers aged 15 to 20, where rap music becomes a tool for reflection and self-awareness;
a meeting designed for parents of adolescents, offering practical tools to navigate the puberty phase with greater understanding.

ART, PHOTOGRAPHY, AND FILM
Art and photography will also take center stage at the Festival: the exhibition space will host photographic displays and artworks created in some of the countries where we work, curated by Kublaiklan.

Faces and Stories from the Margins: Photography and Art from Afghanistan, Tanzania, Kenya, and Ukraine is a visual journey that brings to the forefront the faces, stories, and creations of women, girls, and communities who live every day with the impacts of conflict, poverty, and discrimination — telling a story of resilience and the ongoing fight for rights.
Photography by Jafar Mosavi, Daniele Ratti, and Hugo Weber.
Artworks by Liberatha Alibalio, Annah Nkyalu, and Precious Seronga.

Also on display will be Isola, by Simona Ghizzoni, winner of the WeWorld Special Mention at the Ponchielli Prize 2024.
An autobiographical project, Isola narrates Ghizzoni’s rediscovery of her roots and her deep connection to nature.
This exhibition is curated by Federica Berzioli.

Cinema will once again return to the Festival, featuring a selection of Italian and international films and documentaries — many shown as premieres — focused on challenging stereotypes and highlighting women’s empowerment in Italy and around the world.
