Lasting between 60 and 75 minutes and available in English, Spanish or Italian, the work is conceived as a journey that can be realised in almost any urban context. As participants move through streets, buildings and public spaces, a voice gradually leads them to the discovery of another territory: an unreal state that overlaps with the world we already inhabit. Somewhere between speculative narrative, urban walk and intimate audio guide, Unreal State reflects on our relationship with mobile phones: tools that simultaneously connect and isolate us, orient and monitor us, offering an apparent freedom of action while helping to determine the conditions of our choices. The performance returns the audience to the city with a renewed gaze, inviting them to observe the visible and invisible systems that run through it and the new forms of control that characterise our present.
Marcos Krivocapich & León Siewert Langhoff Unreal State
Unreal State is an immersive, itinerant performance for up to 50 participants, guided through the city by an app installed on their own smartphones.
Marcos Krivocapich (Buenos Aires, 1996) is an author, puppeteer and multimedia artist. His research explores experimentation across formats and languages, political satire and the ways contemporary issues are shaped by new communication technologies. In 2019 he co-founded estudio qp, with which he created works such as PIRAMIDAL (2023) and EL SUCESO (2024). His most recent project, Unreal State, developed within the IN SITU Platform, is an immersive urban performance combining public space, mobile technology and speculative narrative.
León Siewert-Langhoff (Berlin, 1990) is a director and programmer based between Berlin and London. Trained in classical music, he moved toward theatre working at the Maxim Gorki Theater as assistant director, collaborating with directors including Frank Castorf and Yael Ronen. During the pandemic he trained as a software engineer: his current practice combines theatre and technology, developing digital tools for educational and performative contexts.
