Elisabetta Consonni (UN)REAL ESTATE AGENCY

(UN)REAL ESTATE AGENCY is a participatory project addressing the housing crisis through an artistic device in the form of an imaginary real estate agency. Playing on the double meaning of the term “real estate,” the work questions a system in which housing seems to have stopped being a right and become, increasingly, a commodity.

Between listings, auctions, and surreal negotiations, the audience is invited to step into the role of a potential buyer, confronting dynamics that reflect the contradictions of the contemporary housing market. Through play and imagination, the performance opens up a space for reflection on the economic and political mechanisms that regulate housing, envisioning new perspectives on one of the fundamental rights of our time.
