An argument turns into hail, a memory condenses into fog, a caress opens like an unexpected ray of sun: temporale {a lesbian tragedy} explores the unrest of the present as both a meteorological and emotional phenomenon. Between flashes of wonder and melancholy, sudden laughter and deep anguish, the stage fills with bodies collapsing, fragmenting, and recomposing into flickering presences and condensed moods. Emotions become disturbances, climates become dramaturgy. Through the language of theater and the body, the piece investigates desire, love, and loss from a queer and intimate perspective, giving audiences a concrete sense of passions as atmospheric events.
The work draws on an ancient tradition—the tragedy—but overturns it, entrusting narration not to heroes or gods, but to a voice that confronts the fragility of daily life, the weight and lightness of lesbian love told without filters.
Punctuating this drift are The Sonnets of Desperation by Ilenia Caleo, inspired by Goethe, charting weather reports of our inner tempests. The result is a contemporary lesbian tragedy: an atmospheric fresco of bodies, voices, and disturbances, where intimacy becomes landscape, and the landscape reflects a desire for fragile, poetic resistance.
Bio
Silvia Calderoni is an actress and performer, member of the collective Motus, with whom she has created works that have marked the international scene for their political radicality and hybrid performative languages. Her research focuses on the body as a field of fluid identities, in dialogue with music, cinema, and visual arts.
Ilenia Caleo is an activist, researcher, and performer. Moving across performing arts, feminisms, and queer theories, her practice intertwines critical theory and stage work. For years, she has investigated theatrical devices as spaces of community, thought, and political resistance.
Together, Calderoni and Caleo experiment with a stage writing that fuses poetry, philosophy, and visual and sonic imaginaries, creating performative landscapes capable of embodying the fragilities and forces of the present.
