Mathilde Carmen Chan Invernon BELL END

FAROUT

Repetition, accumulation and humour transform discomfort into a tool for critical observation.

In BELL END, Mathilde Carmen Chan Invernon stages an ironic and unflinching dissection of the codes of dominant masculinity. Through body, voice and sound, the performers observe, imitate and distort gestures, words and attitudes that belong to the imaginary of the connard — a figure as recognisable as it is everyday.
Awkward postures, deliberately shapeless costumes and a sound score built from words, interjections and ventriloquy techniques give life to bodies that are at once comic and unsettling, invading the space until its power dynamics become visible. A physical and sonic performance that uses laughter to destabilise what often goes unnoticed.
