INSIDE AND OUTSIDE BASE
Building spaces of collective imagination in the city, beyond the limits of a cultural institution.
We collaborate with citizens, small local associations, creative enterprises and institutions between the Tortona/Solari and Giambellino, Barona and San Siro neighbourhoods to develop ideas, put projects into circulation, build and nurture networks to get closer to the city, and vice versa.

What does cultural protagonism mean?
We facilitate and activate processes of involvement of the communities living in municipalities 5 and 6 through artistic and cultural programmes, to foster access to culture and mobilise the territory starting with those who live there, even and especially with those who struggle to find space in city programmes.

Creating links through short networks
We activate collaborations with public bodies, private entities, ETS and collectives rooted in the territory in order to multiply the impact of our projects, forge alliances, spread good practices and services.

A space to be, a space to make
We experiment with new models of participation and cultural production: at BASE you can stay, rest, dance, but also co-design content and formats that have an impact in the neighbourhoods of south-west Milan.

Artistic language is the medium
Creativity will not save the world, but it is certainly a powerful tool for change: our projects always have an artistic dimension to build common imaginaries and future visions, foster active citizenship and the empowerment of individuals and communities through art, design, music, theatre (and much more).
