TEETER-TROTTER — Sara Arosio

A seesaw, a teeter-trotter, takes shape through hybrid figures: a disproportionately large man lifts his leg, transforming his own body into the very structure of the game. Upon it, a creature remains suspended above the ground, while a third figure supports the effort, making balance possible. There is no external structure: the game is sustained entirely by bodies collaborating with one another. The rules are not predetermined, but emerge through relationships and through the necessity of holding together what is fragile, unstable, and uncertain. The image proposes the future as a collectively constructed playground, a search for balance that can never be achieved once and for all, but must instead be continuously negotiated, supported, and reinvented.

Sara Arosio is an illustrator and visual artist based in Milan. She studied painting, visual arts, and illustration, developing a multidisciplinary approach that combines traditional techniques with a contemporary visual language. In recent years, she has worked as a freelance illustrator, collaborating with various editorial projects. Outside her artistic practice, she takes care of her pet rats and practices yoga.
