Industria Indipendente in residence at BASE
Industria Indipendente in residenza a BASE

In residency since March 16, 2026

They are in residence at BASE in March 2026, developing a new production.

Here, two figures — both real and imaginary at once (Don Quixote and Kathy Acker, writer, radical icon, and extraordinary figure of postmodern experimentation) — become the sources and characters through which to tell the transformative power of writing, immersed in the fictional story of an eclipse splitting the sky apart, ready to lull everything to sleep except them.

BIO:

Industria Indipendente is an artistic collective working across performance, music, writing, and visual arts, founded by Erika Z. Galli and Martina Ruggeri. Their research is rooted in language — an expanded form of writing that inscribes itself onto bodies, environments, and surfaces. It transforms into action and performativity, liquefying and expanding through sound, voice, and light, dissolving the boundaries between self and other, between here and elsewhere.

Their practice has generated hybrid formats and spaces such as Merende, in residence at Angelo Mai (Rome) since 2018. In 2024, they presented their first solo exhibition, BLUE BLUE BLUE LIMBO, in Turin. The project, developed in collaboration with NERO Editions, will also lead to the launch of a perfume scheduled for release this November.
