Elisa D’Amico and Francesco Dalmasso are dancers and performers. Their artistic practice intertwines and questions research, creation, and curatorship. Starting from a specific object of interest, they articulate thoughts, choreographic scores, bodies in relation, and dances. They are part of the practice-sharing project shared training Torino and members of the curatorial team of Workspace Ricerca X_research and dramaturgy.
Residency Project: Long story short
Long story short is both a performance and a talk, an overview of ten years of collaborative artistic practice. Structured as a story, the work unfolds in chapters that guide the audience’s gaze and listening through a journey composed of projections, written texts, dances, lights, and sounds that fill the space. As these materials are allowed to unfold, reveal themselves, disappear, and resonate with one another, an environment emerges, made of events that are as consequential as they are unpredictable, at times ironic.
Long story short is a work about how we work, and about how our practice meets the audience’s gaze. It takes the shape of something in between an expanded archive, a displaced autobiography of practice, a collection of methodologies, and a display of materials drawn from our artistic trajectory—and from there moving toward other directions and other possibilities.
