ROOM 05. Domaine de Boisbuchet e Studio Aléa – Process and Fungi: The Garden Lab

Process and Fungi: The Garden Lab is a project conceived by Domaine de Boisbuchet and the Parisian design studio Aléa Work—an ever-evolving installation where humans and fungi coexist and co-create. Part garden, part laboratory, it invites visitors to explore an interspecies dialogue and engage with materials in a playful way.

Rooted in ongoing research on mycelium, Process and Fungi: The Garden Lab opens its process to active public participation, exploring hybrid entities that grow, transform, and decay. Mycelium acts as both agent and mediator, revealing slow, interwoven processes and reciprocal practices with the world beyond the human.

A space for experimentation, collaboration, and slow encounters, Process and Fungi: The Garden Lab fosters new ways of making, sensing, and imagining with the non-human. Visitors are invited to interact directly with living materials, contributing to a shared exploration of biological intelligence and regenerative design.
