Under the lights of glamour and art is where the reality hides: thousands of artists at all latitudes are fighting to maintain themselves in conditions of unstable work, in absence of shared rules and with a feeling of debilitating uncertainty caused by the threats of contemporary reality, the economical challenge of being an artist becomes immediately an ethic challenge.
Realized by the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, this collection of essays was conceived as a critical attempt to re-think and improve the relationship between artists and artistic institutions, to cultivate the awareness of each other’s vulnerabilities and to take on your own responsibilities.
