FAROUT Live Arts Festival LUIT & Ruggero Franceschini — Manuale di Adattamento al Pianeta

performance

Everything will change sooner than you think.

A team of “adapters” seeks strategies to methodically reorganize human life on Earth. They travel across the planet, writing an adaptation manual page by page.

The protocol is always the same: participants go through various preparation phases before entering a time accelerator. Inside, they will live several decades into the future and must use their collective imagination to tackle various events that will impact their community. A radio broadcast will be their only contact with the outside world, while mysterious cave paintings will trace their history in real time.

What adaptation strategies will they invent?

By listening to their experiences, the team of “adapters” will synthesize the various strategies, share them during a final moment open to everyone, and add them to the manual before dismantling the experiment and moving on to the next location.

Bio

LUIT, based in Paris, brings together artists who work in public space, either in site-specific projects or with theatre productions. Their language is mainly theatrical, but they also use social science methods. LUIT seeks to renew the concept of collective participation and experimentation with the people it meets in public space. For this project, LUIT collaborates with Ruggero Franceschini, an artist based in Milan.
