The documentary offers a glimpse into the lives of three friends—Augusta, Mariana, and Crimilda—brought together by a shared passion: playing rugby. Their stories unfold over the three days leading up to April 7, 2022, Mozambique’s national holiday in honor of Josina Machel, a freedom fighter who died during the war of independence, and a day dedicated to Mozambican women. These young women gain the admiration even of the boys, as they take on a sport widely seen as tough, dangerous, and “fit only for the strongest—for men.” Their ultimate goal: to compete in the first-ever women’s rugby tournament in Mozambique, held on April 7, 2022.
