ELETTRICO / Simone Matteuzzi

A thousand stunts in the space around us

Multifaceted, experimental, pure contamination: like the BASE summer, Simone Matteuzzi‘s music can be defined as endless. ELETTRICO is the festival conceived and curated by Simone Matteuzzi with the support of Costello’s Records. On 10 and 11 September, the Milanese singer-songwriter, born in 2001, will take the stage at BASE to present Invitation for Breakfast, his debut album: a banquet of nu-jazz sounds that fade into electronica and fresh, delicate flavours that tickle the palate.

Two evenings that aim to focus on some new talents on the national underground scene and give space to some of the fundamental elements of modern music: composition and musical instruments on the one hand and words and poetry on the other.

The first evening will be dedicated to the presentation of four projects, two with an instrumental repertoire (the jazz-funk of F.A.Z. and the ambient electronics of saxophonist Marco Scipione) and two singer-songwriters (Simone Famiglietti and Vittoria Sciacca) and will close with a musical tribute by Simone Matteuzzi.

The second will feature a live performance of the singer-songwriter’s album in an exclusive acoustic arrangement for string quartet, keyboard and voice. Both evenings will be conducted by Musichetta Benedetta, a young cultural operator always intent on promoting new music.

Bio

From foggy Milan, born in 2001, Simone Matteuzzi writes his songs snoozing here and there among chords, scents, syllables and impressions. As a child he fell in love with black music, then also with Pink Floyd, Miles Davis and Battiato. He plays in clubs in Milan and the hinterland with jazz and singer-songwriter projects.

So... is this getting serious?
