How do you rewrite a dictionary made of new definitions?

Imagine a live ephemeral dictionary where the world is summarized in a set of definitions that make you smile, think, doubt, question, love, move, and change perspective. Eléctrico 28 brings us a walking pop-up observatory run by 3 characters in love with everyday life. If you meet them, don’t miss the chance to hear their particular version of the world around us.

Walking Definitions is a stage intervention that fuses the universe of definitions with the ever-changing reality of everyday urban life. Eléctrico 28’s new performance embraces the strangeness of everyday life, the unpredictable, and relates to the architecture of places: it needs a lively place like a plaza, where a team of “dictionaries” describe things that happen with the power of observation, their bodies, words, and a microphone. Their language is unique and radical: they exclusively use the form of definition to signify the elements, materials, incidents and activities around them. The intervention is constructed by capturing the present moment of a place and is fueled by whoever happens to wander nearby. In conclusion, it is an attempt to perform a dictionary, connected in an unpredictable but controlled way of experiencing the poetics of evidence.

Bio

Eléctrico 28 is a collective that nurtures the ecosystem of everyday human (and animal) life represented in immersive outdoor street performances made with heart and humor. Eléctrico 28 imbues it with small actions ranging from the everyday to the fantastic, challenging preconceptions and conventions of theater and public space. Since 2013 they have created site-specific performances that have traveled throughout Europe.
