The installation by visual artist Matilde Cassani contrasts with the frenzy of Milan’s 'weeks' and changes form thanks to the movements of the visitors who cross it, leaving their footprints behind.

Milan hosts a multitude of events. Every week becomes a “week” – Arch Week, Design Week, Piano City, Book City, Green Week, Fashion Week, just to name a few.
Milan is a privatized city where empty spaces are closed off behind gates. For those who don’t live in the city, for the “non-locals,” it’s hard to find a place to be. These weeks, these many “weeks,” are the moments when the city reveals itself, finally showing its hidden places and true identity. Arch Week, and even more so Design Week, represent the peak of this unveiling, where courtyards open up, gardens are revealed, and squares fill with crowds. These are the moments when people make the city.

Another Week aims to participate in these moments of sharing with the intention of creating new spatialities for a fresh form of conviviality within the Ground Hall of BASE.
Inside, a dimension of suspension and well-being unfolds. Long PVC rugs will be layered on the floor and then unrolled like endless carpets, almost waiting for some kind of ritual. Six strips of infinite light blue mats recreate the lanes of a swimming pool – a space many of us have spent time in. Two circular PVC shapes become another playful element with multiple meanings: placed on the floor, “on the water,” they resemble reflections of light, while when hung from the ceiling, they transform into the sun illuminating the room.

The result is a changeable environment, a place that takes on different forms thanks to the movements of the visitors who pass through it, a space adaptable to any activity. Another Week seeks to offer the same freedom with a space characterized by softness and flexibility, inviting anyone who enters to lean in.
Another Week is an installation designed to create new spatialities for a renewed conviviality of space.

Around the idea of bodies, performance, and community revolves the performance With All My Strength by Martina Rota, an artist active in the field of visual arts, who will activate Cassani’s installation.
