Dale Konstanz — C.A.M. (Capture A Moment)

by Redazione

Street photography as an extension of the youthful gaze, enabling the weaving of visual narratives that not only represent, but co-create shared reality. A gesture at once technological and corporeal, where each image becomes a testimony to living in the flux of the present.

The C.A.M. (Capture A Moment) project is an educational resource designed for teachers of subjects related to Art and Design, as well as Social Sciences or extracurricular activities and student clubs. It is a street photography activity that teaches young people this art form and how to practice it. Students take pictures in their neighbourhood with the aim of bringing attention to what they consider important. This can include aspects of life that are often overlooked, pride, development and urban decay, or random moments of local life.

A guiding principle of the project is the idea that young people have unique insights and stories to tell about the places where they live; however, they are rarely invited to actively participate in local development and civic life decisions. Street photography is an artistic expression that they can practice with their mobile devices, telling stories that represent the youth experience.

Project funded by Mahidol University International College
