At BASE the food is served in line. After a careful sourcing and selection process, the raw ingredients – always seasonal as well as organic, biodynamic and local where possible – arrive at BASE. Small and medium-size Italian producers working with sustainable production methods are favoured here.
“The lines” on offer are edible artefacts which engage all the senses. Each week sees the introduction of new lines, created according to seasonal availability and served up in a line, no cutlery required. Not just meat, but also vegetables, starters and desserts, with options suitable for everyone, from vegetarians to omnivores. The menu makes frequent nods to street food from Italy and all over the world, giving it a new spin to create an excellent dining experience at affordable prices.
At the bar you can rub shoulders with the professionals involved in projects at BASE, those working in the burò, and the residents of casaBASE over a coffee or aperitivo, or for a laid-back meeting in cosmopolitan surroundings. Our lines can be paired with organic wines, cocktails, craft beers and hot drinks from our carefully curated selection. We have chosen to give you the option of discovering lesser known wines, certified as organic thanks to their avoidance of chemical additives and their preference for natural fermentation methods and unconventional ageing and conservation processes. We love to experiment and urge you to join us.
Un posto a BASE was created by esterni, a cultural enterprise committed to repurposing public spaces and regenerating buildings since 1995. Designed by Francesco Bombardi, Un posto a BASE enhances the industrial character of the space and refuses to conform to existing definitions.
