A confessional for the wounded earth, a speculative sanctuary for the creation of kinship among the ruins of the Anthropocene
A 5m² cube. The walls are lined with vertical panels of artificial and living plants, a choreography of nature and machine. The humidity of the air is saturated with jungle sounds: birds, rustling leaves, murmurs of a world we have pushed to the brink. In the middle, a soft breath invites you to sit, to stop, to listen.
Outside, the world witnesses. A dynamic impact map traces the balance of the environment before and after your entrance. Screens show photographs of generations embracing the trees, touching the roots, reaching for the leaves, their gestures echoing through time. They remind us that this connection is ancient and that this bond is fragile.
Ascolta la Mamma is more than an installation: it is a relational space, a speculative practice to remind us of what we already know. Interweaving ephemeral architecture, plants and XR technology, this project builds a bridge between past and future, human and non-human, material and digital. It invites us to befriend the worlds we are destroying, to sit in the difficulty of our shared existence and to act not out of domination but out of love.
