Do you know what ‘live arts’ are? Maybe I do. And maybe you also dream of a future as an artist, or as a professional in the world of culture.
What if we told you that you could participate in a course – for free – that brings you closer to that future?
Are You Not Entertained? is a path to bring 14-18 year olds closer to the world of culture: from music to theatre, from movement to writing, the performing arts will be our toolbox for building spaces of imagination and creation together. The course will train you in different artistic disciplines, but also to observe with a critical eye, to think a performance from the beginning, to design art together with other people.
We will do this from the basics together with people who do this for a living: artists, communication and project designers, journalists and many others.
The free programme includes:
→ Art workshops: three training programmes that explore and weave together many disciplines and languages of the body and dance, theatre and music. The workshops are run by the artists associated with BASE Milano: Elisabetta Consonni, choreographer and performer, Corps Citoyen, a multidisciplinary artistic collective, MOMBAO, a duo of performers and musicians.
→ Cultural production: an experience that will lead you to the co-design and production of an event within the BASE Milano programme, in collaboration with the staff of one of the largest cultural centres in Italy.
When?
The course starts in October 2023 and lasts one year. But don’t worry: it is constructed in such a way as to have periods of in-depth study, alternating with periods of pause, so that you can reconcile it with your life as a student, student or worker.
