A sound system that uses AI and ultrasound to analyze behavior in real time, projecting us into a future of ethical control.
Studio Korinsky is an interdisciplinary, Berlin-based artist collective founded by twin brothers Abel and Carlo Korinsky. Their work operates at the intersection of art, science, and technology, creating immersive, research-driven installations that challenge and recontextualize our sensory perception.
Focusing on sound, spatial computing, and real-time data, Studio Korinsky transforms spaces into speculative environments that critique contemporary systems, ranging from surveillance and automation to algorithmic bias. Their recent projects have explored drone ethics, space debris, and AI-generated patterns, often in collaboration with leading scientific institutions.
Resonance is a sound-based information/analyzing system designed for both urban and indoor spaces. The work utilizes directional ultrasound speakers that actively respond to people’s movements. Through ultrasound technology and Artificial Intelligence, the system visually analyzes individuals and produces sonic feedback in real time.
Reflecting on the ethical problems of pervasive surveillance in public space, Resonance evokes a speculative future shaped by a hypothetical “Environmental Karma” system. Inspired by China’s Social Credit System and the U.S. Signature Strikes, the project imagines an EU-driven Virtue Analysis Network (VAN).
This fictional network uses real-time behavioral profiling to generate personalized stories/information, designed to encourage sustainable, inclusive, and culturally aware behavior. Resonance forces us to question the price of sustainability when it is enforced by an omnipresent algorithm.
BIO

This project is part of ReSilence: Future Soundscapes & Affect Mining in Urban Ecosystems, the exhibition showcasing the outcomes of fifteen international art residencies supported by S+T+ARTS (the European Commission’s initiative for science, technology, and the arts). Through the artistic exploration of sound, ReSilence redefines urban spaces, using the acoustic dimension to analyze the complex affective and ecological relations of future cities and promote collective awareness of what lies beyond mere noise. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with BASE, as part of the FAROUT Festival 2025 edition.
