BASE launches its new partnership with Leroy Merlin through two projects dedicated to design, performance, and architecture: We Will Design and Performing Architecture. Two festivals—spanning BASE and the city—experimental workshops, and spaces for connection, made possible with the support of Leroy Merlin.
Leroy Merlin is a multi-specialist company that enables people to improve their homes by offering complete solutions through a wide range of products and services. Since its arrival in Italy in 1996, it has built a network of 51 stores, 1 garden center, and 8 showrooms across the country, providing job opportunities for over 8,500 employees—who, in fact, own 99% of the company’s shares. Leroy Merlin strongly believes that everyone has the right to their ideal home and is committed to improving housing conditions for those in need, driven by the idea that a better home leads to a better life. Its mission revolves around the principle that everyone deserves to live in a healthy, safe, sustainable, and comfortable environment, as this significantly contributes to personal well-being.
“Everyone has the right to their ideal home. Simple, yet deeply meaningful: our philosophy is to make home improvement accessible to all, turning every housing project into reality.”
Aligned with the global strategy of the Adeo Group, Leroy Merlin aims to become the world’s leading platform for home improvement, offering concrete solutions for better living. Its goal is to make homes healthier, more comfortable, and safer, ensuring everyone’s right to an ideal home while fostering a positive impact on the environment and communities—We make home a positive place to live.
Sustainability is an integral part of Leroy Merlin Italy’s DNA—a core value that drives every strategic and operational decision.
In this spirit, Impatto Positivo (Positive Impact) was created out of the belief that sustainability depends on the choices we make today. This project serves as a bridge between business and community, promoting tangible actions for a more responsible future.
This initiative—which transforms Leroy Merlin’s commitment into concrete, measurable actions—is based on key pillars that reflect the company’s vision of a fairer, more sustainable, and inclusive future:
→ Community Engagement
→ Valuing Diversity
→ Decarbonization
→ Circular Economy
→ Customer Awareness
Understanding the challenges consumers face in making more responsible choices, Leroy Merlin has developed Home Index—a proprietary indicator that systematically evaluates the environmental and social impact of its product range. Home Index helps customers easily grasp the implications of their choices and opt for more sustainable products. The goal is to make responsible consumption more accessible and understandable for all.
