This publication was born of a twofold desire: On one hand to share experiences and visions with the community of artists and Culture operators, deepening the dialogue and activating processes of co-design and co-construction of tools, approaches and visions, in order to responding to the challenges that a cultural institution and a residency center must face nowadays. On the other hand, entering the national and international debate on the role of cultural production and artistic research, enriching it with co-presence and contributions, critical thinking and imagination.
How can we act systemically in order to continue and expand the experiences of art residencies in a sustainable way? How can we protect these precious spaces of care, listening and openness, these necessary spaces of sharing and generative conflict?
DESIRESIDE can be browsed in two parts
DESIRE
DESIRE is dialogue, deepening and building critical thinking that faces the national and international dimension. It activates advocacy paths through which to gather the instances of the artistic community, the operator and cultural realities, entering the debate related to the role of cultural institutions, enriching it with co-presence and contributions, and inserting the issue of residencies in the political and democratic dimension.
RESIDE
RESIDE is the space dedicated to building and consolidating community through the experimentation of co-design and co-imagination paths.
It is dedicated to our Residency Program and all the projects and people who have passed through BASE since we started our residency center activity in 2021.
