What moves the breath between things: that between-breathing, that glimmer between taking and giving, between stealing pieces of the world and releasing breath to the broken world?
With a dramaturgy inspired by Chandra Livia Candiani’s “Silence is a Living Thing,” “Breathing Room” explores breathing as a poetic act and is an ideal space to catch one’s breath.
With no rehearsals, no repeat performances, each opening of this “breathing room” is triggered by an invitation to an artist from the field of dance and performance to walk through the space together with the audience present.
An invitation to be carried by, an attitude of listening, an exercise in vulnerability and relationship, an act of mutual care.
Armani/Silos
Originally a barn built in 1950, Armani/Silos is now a multifaceted and constantly evolving space, a place to design the future, a showcase of new orientations and lifestyles, capable of capturing the changing times and changing cultures. The ideal setting to welcome the contemporary creation of FAROUT, the meeting point between fashion and performance, between art and body, where interdisciplinary languages challenge conventions and preconceptions.
Armani/Silos traverses the fabric of the city in connection with projects promoted by cultural networks active in the area, in continuity with its mission. Initiatives and events related to fashion, art, music and opera for all citizens. Armani/Silos spaces come alive with activities and events with the involvement of creatives from the contemporary scene.
Giorgio Armani has always been committed to supporting the talent of new generations of creatives. The collaboration for “Breathing Room” comes on the occasion of the fourth edition of FAROUT Live Arts Festival 2024, a reference for the performing arts audience and an incubator for new artistic forms, which mixes theater, music and dance.
