Over 90,000 people, more than 40 independent international research projects, two major installations, a rooftop camping area, over 4,000 square meters of exhibition space, 5 design residencies, and a music festival.
This was the last edition of We Will Design. And the next one?

From April 7 to 13, BASE opens its doors to a temporary community of designers, architects, and artists to weave new kinships.

Building meaningful relationships among humans, non-humans, and more–than–humans.

“Making Kin” is the theme for 2025. It’s about rethinking interpersonal relationships beyond traditional bonds, introducing new forms of kinship—ties, connections—based on conscious choices and shared affinities. The goal is to create intergenerational and intersectional alliances that challenge hierarchies and oppression, fostering creative acts of resistance. This approach transcends purely biological kinship, emphasizing care and the recognition of differences, and creating space for chosen connections and co-creation.

Here’s how the last edition went:

Design can help us to read our present
and build our future.

We are preparing for the fifth edition of We Will Design: a journey that continues throughout the year with residencies and international exchanges, where design practices and experiences become tools to read — and sometimes resolve — the contradictions of our time.
