From April 7 to 13, BASE welcomes a temporary community of designers, architects, and artists to weave new bonds.
Making Kin is the theme for 2025. It’s about reimagining relationships beyond traditional ties, proposing new forms of kinship—bonds and connections—rooted in conscious choices and shared affinities. The goal is to build intergenerational and intersectional alliances that challenge hierarchies and oppression, fostering creative acts of resistance. Moving beyond the confines of purely biological kinship, it emphasizes care, recognition of differences, and the creation of spaces for chosen bonds and co-creation.
