CU*MMIA*1 is the beginning of a magical and political process of self-defense that redresses and redeems the cultural and social abandonment of a territory and its presences. It manifests itself through the rewriting of a subaltern and marginal southern Italy, where bodies inhabit a zone of promiscuity between the dimensions of the magical and the everyday. The performance moves between continuous states of altered presence that activate connections and disconnections with affective memories, omens and spectral matter. The work is part of a research on the transmagic, a speculative space where the state of abandonment and invisibility bring forth imaginative and somatic practices that activate extraordinary and unusual behaviors within a system of relationships between human and non-human presences. Cummia*1 is a project by Danila Gambettola in collaboration with Ulisse Schiavo, Giada Cipollone, Laura Pante and Davide Savorani.
Danila Gambettola is a dancer, performer and researcher engaged in a transdisciplinary investigation aimed at exploding the concept of choreography, superimposing dramaturgical fragments of movement, voice, writing and installation components.
