MOMBAO is a mutant creature, constantly evolving. Its nature is changing again and to enshrine the end of one cycle and the beginning of another, it invites you into its chrysalis.
For this reason MOMBAO has decided to organize a special performance, hovering between a concert, a ritual and a long meditation session: a long “game,” a 5-hour uninterrupted sound stream between semi-structured musical forms and improvisational cycles in which the audience can freely enter and exit or stay there with them accompanying them on the journey, to lean out together to the unexpected.
Just as inside MOMBAO cultures blend and plant worlds and chips become one with each other, their instruments, too, have lately stopped being separate from each other, becoming one system, one big integrated and connected instrument.
In fact, the latest research has led the duo to develop a hybrid set in which drums and synthesizers, connected through sensors, modify each other by influencing their timbres, sounds and rhythmic patterns, in a continuous kaleidoscopic “game” in which electronics become increasingly organic.
Accompanying MOMBAO in this challenge will also be var musicians from the Milanese music scene, to expand from the impermeability of their own research to the porosity of the encounter with the other.
