What lies behind a hypertrophic, monumental body? What are its vulnerabilities? What are its obsessions? What questions drive these bodies? What stereotypes do they conceal?<\/strong><\/p>\n

With All My Strength<\/strong><\/em> is a research project by Martina Rota<\/strong> that, through the practice of bodybuilding posing, explores contemporary masculinity, body-related obsessions, and the construction of a synthetic identity. The performance\u2014staged as a site-specific intervention\u2014features Massimo Palmieri, Massimiliano Palmese, and Arold Triberti, whose bodies move through a sequence of actions questioning the image and its meaning through the materiality of their forms and the practice of posing.<\/p>\n

This ongoing project, which has taken the shape of a performance, a short film, and a publication, is revisited for Performing Architecture, the architecture and performing arts festival by BASE and DOPO?, where it engages in dialogue with Matilde Cassani Studio\u2019s installation, set to occupy BASE\u2019s Ground Hall from April to September 2025.<\/p>\n

With Another Week<\/strong><\/em>, Matilde Cassani<\/strong> reflects on Milan as a city of events and speed, creating an installation that counters the frantic energy of Fuorisalone and its themed \u201cweeks.\u201d A vast rubber-soled carpet in BASE\u2019s Ground Hall invites visitors to slow down, immerse themselves in a suspended atmosphere, and embrace a state of waiting. Soft mats and carpets suggest a pause, offering an alternative way to experience Fuorisalone\u2014one that shifts the focus from stimulation to the relationships between bodies. Rota\u2019s performance embodies this very exploration.<\/p>\n

This event is part of Performing Architecture \u2197<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, a city-wide festival running from April 3\u201313 across five neighborhoods in Milan\u2019s south side, tracing a path between architecture and performing arts. Five districts, five visions\u2014a laboratory of experimentation where architecture becomes body, sound, ritual, and refuge. A collective exercise in rethinking urban living, turning spaces into places of encounter, gesture, and listening.<\/p>\n

Performing Architecture<\/strong> is a project born from the collaboration between BASE Milano<\/strong> and DOPO?<\/strong> and is among the winning projects of the Festival Architettura<\/strong>, promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity<\/strong> of the Italian Ministry of Culture<\/strong> to support, promote, and enhance contemporary Italian architecture.<\/p>\n
