Similarly, bacteria are in constant communication\u2014with each other, with us, and with their environment\u2014shaping metabolism and ecosystem balance. And yet, we tend to reduce these life forms to a purely utilitarian role: enemies to eliminate or resources to exploit.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"438\" data-end=\"778\">But <strong>what if we stopped seeing ourselves as the \u201cend consumers\u201d of the ecosystem and instead recognized our place within an interconnected web of relationships? Can we imagine a way of relating to plants, fungi, and bacteria that goes beyond our own benefit\u2014one that is rooted in the pleasure of connection, exchange, and shared existence?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"780\" data-end=\"1277\"><strong data-start=\"780\" data-end=\"807\">TALkins W\/ Ester Azzola<\/strong> invites us to overturn this perspective. This performative event becomes a <strong>rhizosphere<\/strong>\u2014the layer of soil surrounding roots, where microorganisms, bacteria, and fungi form essential bonds with plants. In the same way, <strong>TALkins transforms into a space for sensory exploration<\/strong>, where sound, soil, food, and living bodies become tools of communication. A moment to refine new ways of listening and rediscover uncharted connections with the other inhabitants of our planet.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1687\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">During the gathering, we will create an installation of threads and paper around the roots, bringing to life a <strong data-start=\"1390\" data-end=\"1418\">&#8220;convivial rhizosphere.&#8221;<\/strong> Each participant will be invited to leave a trace: a memory, an experience, or an emotion linked to food\u2014specifically, to pasta. This collective archive will then be transcribed, becoming a symbol of the emotional heritage we carry around this fundamental nourishment.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"796\" data-end=\"1125\"><\/p>\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\r\n<p data-start=\"796\" data-end=\"1125\"><\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1127\" data-end=\"1399\">The experience is conceived and directed by <strong data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1187\">Ester Azzola<\/strong>, chef with a background in biology, nutrition, and neuroscience. Food becomes the vehicle for an ecosystemic message through a collaboration with <strong data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1353\">Felicia<\/strong>, which will accompany the communal banquet.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1401\" data-end=\"1686\">The event will also feature a vinyl-only <strong data-start=\"1442\" data-end=\"1464\">DJ set by Dj Tsura<\/strong>, carefully tuned to frequencies designed to engage with the plant world. A musical journey through the sounds of <strong data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"1659\">Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, George Duke, Makoto Ozone, Michael Naura Quartet,<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1664\" data-end=\"1683\">Pharoah Sanders<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1688\" data-end=\"1857\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Finally, <strong data-start=\"1697\" data-end=\"1715\">Anna Paparozzi<\/strong>, a landscape architect, will curate an installation dedicated to the plant ecosystem and soil, revealing the invisible life that inhabits it.<\/p>\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\r\n<p data-start=\"1688\" data-end=\"1857\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><\/p>\r\n<p>\u2192 A collection of seemingly familiar connections, but rewritten and reassembled to create new relationships as we live them. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/base.milano.it\/en\/series\/talkins\/\"><strong data-start=\"125\" data-end=\"163\">TALkins: Talking about making kins<\/strong><\/a><\/span> is a series of meetings where artists, curators, designers, philosophers, scientists, and experts in interspecies relationships come together to discuss &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/base.milano.it\/en\/making-kin\/\">making kin<\/a><\/span>.&#8221; Each TALkins event is a unique experience: from moments of participatory reflection to hands-on practice, from collective or intimate sensory moments of direct interaction with food.<\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1688\" data-end=\"1857\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beyond their sophisticated chemical communication systems, plants can perceive and respond to sound vibrations, emitting signals that are imperceptible to the human ear.
