The Machine That Learned to Breathe<\/strong>\u00a0is a working prototype that reimagines a kitchen appliance as a sonic instrument and a domestic altar. The motor generates pitch, producing melodies through variations in speed, in an interaction similar to a theremin. Airflow is amplified and channeled into tuned copper pipes, while a copper horn transforms the machine\u2019s noise into a collective, resonant voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project rethinks darkness as a generative space, where hidden systems, labor, and food surplus find resonance and a second life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We Will Design 2026 \u2014 HELLO, DARKNESS<\/strong> embraces design as a tool for subverting hierarchies and weaving together ecologies and technologies to imagine the cities and societies of the future.
It is an invitation to recognize the abyss \u2014 political, ecological, aesthetic \u2014 we’re living in, not as a place of fear, but as a space of regeneration, resistance, and imagination. Darkness here is not absence, but a fertile condition that embraces invisible gestures, marginalized knowledge, and luminous forms of resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
