How do you turn a post-industrial courtyard into an urban allotment and give the city a new green area? Timberland and BASE are joining forces in the “Urban Greening” project, along with other European cities already committed to the issue, in a mission to improve individual wellbeing and bolster community. Nature Needs Heroes. A green transformation carried out with support from Cascina Bollate, a nursery located within Milano-Bollate prison. The produce from the allotment will be gathered and distributed throughout the community through the Bella Dentro network, Italy’s first project fighting food waste by celebrating fruit and veg that’s a little on the ugly side, but “beautiful on the inside”.
