Signs that come to life; living, breathing installations that inhabit places; artwork with a voice of its own; open-air museums. Telling the story of the Milan area, from the centre out, through urban art and augmented reality: this is the remit of the artistic residencies from the ARDA project.
Until 20 January, for four weeks, 8 digital artists live and work within the creative ecosystem at BASE, taking part in a creative and informative learning process run by BePart to create two multimedia pieces each. The artworks will soon be featured as part of the open-air exhibit along the Navigli (canals) to the South of Milan, chronicling historic and cultural local landmarks. These pieces will be produced in relation to the physical installations created by the designers from IDEAS – Bit Factory.
ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
They live at casaBASE, work in the Burò, BASE’s project house, and are immersed in our creative ecosystem. They learn and share knowledge through peer-to-peer workshops and talks with experts and partners. They co-design multimedia experiences and new ways of chronicling lesser known areas beyond the city centre.
