For its fourth annual Design Week, BASE Milano is teaming up for the first time with Ventura Projects, who will inhabit 3,500 m2 of the former industrial spaces, dedicating the area to Ventura Future, an exploration of the new frontiers of design entrusted to international academies, outstanding labels, creative studios and research projects.
The partnership with Ventura Future comes after three years of BASE’s experimental productions at Design Week, with exhibitions on Nomadic Design (2017) and urban transformation with Trouble Makers (2018), presented at previous editions of Fuorisalone, which will continue this year with a new production born out of the concept of the Learning Machine, BASE’s guiding principle in its capacity as an organism for learning and an educational workshop for the city.
For Organisation in Design, the studio behind Ventura Projects, this is a return to their roots as it was in the Tortona district that they presented the first events for the masters of Dutch design such as Maarten Baas, Marcel Wanders and Jurgen Bey.
“An ideal place for talent scouting, discovering trends, finding inspiration and developing new business.” – Margriet Vollenberg, founder of Ventura Projects explaining the choice of BASE Milano for this edition of Ventura Future.
For BASE, the collaboration with Ventura Projects – synonymous with new aesthetics, experimentation and innovative ideas on the international design scene – is a perfect match which reinforces BASE’s mission as an accelerator for innovation in the creative industries and as a “learning machine”, a machine for immersive learning and cross-pollination between different arts and disciplines.
