Nao Tokui is a Japanese artist and researcher studying Artificial Intelligence as a creative resource and language of expression.
A teacher at the University of Keio, where he set up the Computational Creativity Lab, Nao is a “designer” of synaesthetic experiences that establish a dialogue between humans and machines through different senses.
Tokui created the AI DJ Project to test whether it’s possible to distinguish between a living, breathing DJ and a machine trained to select the best tracks thanks to machine learning. His work is currently on display at the Barbican Centre in the exhibition AI: More than Human.
At Meet the Media Guru Tokui will discuss the future of human creativity in the age of AI.
