4WD. 4 lessons with 4 of the most important exponents of art cinema, occupying the space between modern art and cinematography: Yuri Ancarani, Invernomuto, Anna Franceschini, Zapruder.
Put together by Davide Giannella, the workshop is a hands-on look at an artistic landscape in constant expansion that doesn’t shy away from different interpretations. The teachers will apply an array of approaches, poetics, and techniques to deliver tools, both theoretical and practical, for analysis, reflection and elaboration in terms of production, distribution and consumption of art cinema.
CINEMA AS SEANCE.
Cinema as séance is the title of a programme made up of three Zapruder films that ask the viewers to take a leap of faith before viewing, becoming mediums in an unprecedented kind of encounter. Zapruder’s experiments have led to a kind of ephemeral cinema that dilates space, and captures not things but the density of the air between them, and the pearly outlines of things not usually seen.
