15 artists’ posters, a hallway and an artists’ residence. BASE Milano presents – for the first time at casaBASE, our design hostel and artists’ residence – “48×68. Two years of our Posterzine.” An exhibition gathering two years of illustrations from our artistic residency scheme run in partnership with Illustri, featuring established illustrators and up-and-coming talents..
casaBASE houses unpublished pieces by Emiliano Ponzi, Olimpia Zagnoli, Elena Xausa, Francesco Bongiorni, Sarah Mazzetti, Francesco Poroli, Carlo Stanga, Ray Oranges, Johnny Cobalto, Riccardo Guasco, Elisa Talentino, Alberto Lot, Gianluca Folì, Camilla Falsini and Malika Favre.
Every two months BASE welcomes an artist, chosen alongside Illustri, who spends a week immersed in the cultural ecosystem at BASE, staying at casaBASE, working in the burò project house, leading workshops, and taking part in the initiatives underway. The creative output of the residency then becomes the 48x68cm poster for the BASE magazine, and goes towards a visual exploration of the styles and forms of expression used in illustrative art.
